Introduction
At Tactic, we are always working to improve our B2B Account Enrichment services to better meet the needs of our customers. We are excited to announce our latest feature: Custom Industry Classification. This feature allows users to create their own industry classification system, tailored specifically to their business needs. In this blog post, we will explore the benefits of this new feature and how it can improve your B2B sales and marketing efforts.
Enhanced Targeting with Custom Industry Classification
One of the key benefits of custom industry classification is the ability to better target your ideal customers. With a standard industry classification system, businesses may be lumped together based on broad categories that don't necessarily reflect their unique characteristics. By creating your own industry classification, you can segment businesses based on specific criteria that are relevant to your business. This allows you to tailor your sales and marketing efforts to the needs and characteristics of each segment, improving your chances of success.
For example, let's say you work at a software company that creates products for the healthcare industry. Instead of using a standard industry classification system that groups all healthcare businesses together, you could create a custom classification that separates hospitals from private practices, and further segments each group by the number of employees or annual revenue. This would allow you to create targeted marketing campaigns for each segment, highlighting the specific benefits of your product that are most relevant to each group.
Improved Data Quality and Consistency
Another benefit of custom industry classification is the potential to improve data quality and consistency. With a standard industry classification system, businesses may be miscategorized or inconsistently classified, leading to inaccurate data and ineffective targeting. By creating your own classification system, you can ensure that your data is accurate and consistent, and that businesses are correctly categorized based on your specific criteria.
For example, let's say you use a standard industry classification system that groups all software companies together. However, you know that some software companies are actually services companies that don't sell software products. By creating your own classification system, you can separate these two types of companies and ensure that your data accurately reflects the characteristics of each business.
Easy Implementation and Customization
Finally, the custom industry classification feature is easy to implement and customize. You can create your own classification system using our user-friendly interface, and easily update or modify it as needed. This allows you to tailor your classification system to your business needs, without relying on a third-party system that may not accurately reflect your unique characteristics.
To implement, simply select a Custom Industry enrichment from the Enrichment tab in Tactic. This will open an editor which lets you list out any combination of Industry and Subindustry you want to classify.
Once you have finished configuring your custom industries you can run the research and see the results in the Accounts tab.
If you want to update the list of Industries and Subindustries you can do that at any time.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the custom industry classification feature in our B2B Account Enrichment product is a powerful tool for businesses looking to improve their sales and marketing efforts. With enhanced targeting, improved data quality and consistency, and easy implementation and customization, this feature can help businesses achieve better results and drive growth.
